FACTORS INFLUENCING SKIN- SLEEP
Beauty Sleep is a very important part of skincare. The wrinkles & fine lines are reduced to a considerable amount after a good night’s sleep. This effect may occur due to temporary accumulation of water which makes skin plump and due to the fact that cell production speeds up during sleep. The exact reason behind this is unknown till now.
During the sleep in the night skin absorbs highest amount of nutrients & moisture. The blood flow to the skin is increased as body temperature is higher, and this is the reason for rosy tint to the skin when we wake up after a good night’s sleep. The sleep hormone Melatonin is itself an indirect antioxidant which increases the activity of main antioxidant and help prevent skin cell damage by acting against free radicals.
On the other hand, lack of sleep makes the skin look tired and dull. It leads to dark under eye circles, weakens the immune system which may lead to eczema. A sleep deprived night leads to increase stress all day.
