WHY DO I HAVE ACNE IN MY LATE 20'S?
Acne occurs when pores on the surface of the skin become clogged.
Each pore has a follicle, which contains an oil (sebaceous) gland.
In healthy skin, the oil glands produce the right amount of sebum to help lubricate the skin and the dead skin cells are naturally shed off and replaced with new ones.
In acne however, the sebaceous glands produce excess sebum ,the dead skin cells around the follicles do not shed properly, and the result is that the follicles become clogged with white heads, which turn into blackheads as they reach the surface and become oxidized then if the bacteria are present into spots.
Adult acne occurs more often after the age of 25, it appears on chin, jawline, around the mouth and back.
CAUSES OF ADULT ACNE:
Hormonal changes.
Stress
Medications.
Smoking.
Hair products, skincare products and makeup( wrong topicals).
Polycystic ovary syndrome.
