DEHYDRATED, TIGHT SKIN?
Dehydrated skin lacks water. It is worth making the distinction between dehydrated skin and dry skin, which lacks nourishment (lipids, essential fatty acids). Dehydration can affect all skin types, including combination to oily skin. Dehydrated skin feels tight, tingles, lacks radiance and is uncomfortable, it can even peel. Insufficiently hydrated, the skin no longer fulfils its protective barrier function.

Ceramides, Hyaluronic, Aloe Vera
Dehydrated skin can have the same symptoms as dry skin, but it is a skin condition that happens as a result of a lack of water. This lack of water may be causing your skin to overproduce oil to compensate and is why you can experience breakouts or oily and flaky skin at the same time. Because your skin is still able to produce oil more frequently, unlike dry skin, you don't want to incorporate as rich of creams or oil-based products on your face. Instead you need more water-based ingredients that will hydrate your skin.
Although dehydrated skin can be caused by different factors, more often than not it's the result of using skin care products that contain harsh or skin-sensitizing ingredients that disturb its barrier or disrupt the skin's microbiome. It can also develop from using the wrong products for your skin, which leads to an imbalance. In essence, dehydration can be viewed as your skin showing you that it doesn’t like something you’re doing to it.
