NAOS collaborates with experts to better understand the skin and its needs
NAOS AGING SCIENCE, a major scientific discovery on the primary causes of skin aging.
O
Our skin is programmed to maintain its own health and functionality. It has natural mechanisms that need to be supported and strengthened to fight against aging.
By identifying the causes of skin imbalances, beyond the symptoms, NAOS AGING SCIENCE works on the causes of the acceleration of aging: oxidative stress, inflammaging, photoaging, microbiome and proteome science.

Inspired by the work of Professor Miroslav Radman on the role of the proteome as a guarantor of cell longevity, NAOS research teams discover the way to protect the proteome from damage to maintain the skin's youthfulness.

Inspired by Prof. Radman’s work, NAOS researchers in turn discovered in 2010, in snowflakes, the Arthrobacter agilis bacterium, or snow bacteria:
*With an astonishing capacity for survival, enabling it to resist UV radiation and oxidative stress.
*It is the most protective candidate for skin cells due to its high content of bacterioruberins, biological pigments with biomimetic properties of the skin’s natural defense systems and particularly effective proteome protectors.
*Through their dual mechanism of action, chaperone and antioxidant, these molecules, which are the result of billions of years of evolution, prevent irreversible damage to the skin proteome and enable better cellular and tissue functionality to be restored in the long term.
Collaborating with renowned academics, NAOS has created a unique network of expertise.
N
NAOS ambition is to bring together the best researchers in each of their specialties.By sharing the importance of its mission and of the ecobiological approach, NAOS brings to life a global network of academics with whom innovative solutions can freely be explored.
The creation of an active network of researchers allows NAOS to quickly adapt its research programs but also benefit from the most up-to-date equipment.
NAOS scientific committee is integrated into the company’s governance system.
The creation of NAOS Institute of Life Science
In May 2016, Jean-Noël Thorel set up NAOS ILS (Institute of Life Science) to anchor the company’s capacity for innovation by reinforcing links with associated high-level researchers.
Upstream from NAOS, NAOS ILS invests in large-scale research projects that target ecobiology with the goal of applying the research to the Human Care domain (Heart, Body and Mind).
